Induction Coils

Induction coil (or inductor) is the “business end” of the system. Because it is subjected to high-frequency current, intense magnetic fields, and harsh industrial environments, it is considered a critical consumable spare part.
Types of Induction Spare Coils
Customized for specific automotive and industrial geometries:
  • Single-Turn & Multi-Turn Coils: Standard for cylindrical parts like shafts and pins.
  • Pancake Coils: Used for flat surface heating, such as gear faces or clutch plates.
  • Split-Return & Hairpin Coils: Engineered for complex areas like crankshaft journals or camshaft lobes.
  • Internal (I.D.) Coils: Specialized for hardening the inside diameter of bores or housings.

Spare Parts Inventory Strategy

To maintain 100% uptime, automotive lines should stock:
  • Ready-to-Use Backup Coils: At least one spare for every unique part number currently in production.
  • Coil Coating Kits: High-temperature insulating paints and sleeves to patch minor surface wear.
  • Quick-Change Manifolds: Spare adapters that allow for tool-less coil changes in seconds.
